Android: Open Task Manager - How it works
Similar to the computer, there is also a kind of task manager on the Android phone, which can be used to control, open and close currently running apps. We show you how to call up the active processes on your Android phone.
Unlike with a PC, however, you shouldn't close apps after each use. The mobile operating system is designed so that apps continue to run in the background so that applications can be restarted quickly. You should only close apps via the task manager if your phone jerks, is very slow or freezes again and again.
Go to Task Manager and close apps
You start the Android Task Manager in different ways. This is the fastest way to do it:
- Control yours Home screen at.
- Tap the three bars in the lower left area of the screen.
- All active applications are now displayed.
- If you want to quit a certain app, swipe the corresponding entry up.
- Alternatively, you tap on Close allto close all active apps in the background.

You can find a more comprehensive overview of all active processes in the settings:
- Open the Settings app Your Android device.
- Call the area Apps on.
- At the top, tap All.
- Choose Activated out.
The active system processes are now also displayed. You close the app via the respective entry. Some applications may start automatically in the background. If you want to prevent this, select the option Deactivate. This selection is suitable, for example, for some preinstalled services. However, only deactivate applications that you are sure you no longer need. If some services are switched off, some functions and apps of your mobile phone may no longer work properly.
Android Task Manager app: does it make sense?
The Google Play Store is filled with task manager apps and task killers. However, you do not need these applications. Forced closing of apps is not intended for normal Android use. Task killer apps may not close applications properly, causing information in the app to be lost or stuck in memory.
Until the app is restarted, complications can occur with an app and, for example, push messages no longer arrive correctly. Furthermore, you do not save any RAM when closing apps, but even worsen the performance of your device. The Android system is designed in such a way that an inactive app remains open in the background. The operating system accesses it faster when you open it. If an app is closed, it must be completely restarted. So the battery and memory have to do more. If your cell phone is slow or the battery runs out quickly, closing applications regularly won't help.
