View source code in Chrome Android

The source text indicates what the browser should display. In the Chrome browser in Windows you simply press the right mouse button and select “Show page source text” in the menu. Alternatively, you can simply use the key combination "Ctrl" and "U". Unfortunately, this does not work in Android. But we'll show you a little trick on how you can quickly display the source code in Chrome Android.

How can I view the source code in Chrome Android?

  1. First open the "Chrome" browser on your device. If you are not in Chrome, you can simply press the three dots above and then select "Switch to Chrome".
  2. Now open the corresponding website. In our example: ""
  3. Now go to the address bar above and type "view-source:" in front of the web address. In our example from PCShow this would be the following address: "view-source: https: //"
  4. Now the source code is displayed in Android Chrome.

If you now want to find a certain point in the source code, you can also search the source code:

  1. To do this, press the three dots in the upper right corner.
  2. Now you select “Search site” in the menu.
  3. At the top you will find a search field in which you can enter your search term:
  4. In the case of successful search terms, these are highlighted in color. On the right-hand side you will find an overview of how often the term has been found in the source text. By swiping on the right side you will get to the search results faster.

How can I still open the source code?

To view the source code directly via a third-party app, it is recommended that you download the VT View Source app from Google Play.
After installing the app, you simply enter the web address. Now the app shows the source code and you can search it directly.
