Quick guide to install Ubuntu on a USB stick

  1. Download yourselfUbuntu, e.g. at heise Download.
  2. Download the program UNetbootin.
  3. Create with UNetbootin one bootable USB stick (at least 8 gigabytes in size).

  1. Restart your PC and choose the USB stick as a boot drive out.
  2. Select a language on the left and click "Install Ubuntu".
  3. Highlight the options "Downloading updates while Ubuntu is installing" and "Install third-party software for graphics and Wi-Fi hardware, MP3 and other media" and click on "Further".
  4. Mark your choiche "Erase hard drive and install Ubuntu" and click on "Install now". Danger: The content on your hard drive will be completely deleted!
  5. click on "Further".
  6. Select the time zone and click "Further" click.
  7. Select your keyboard layout and click "Further".
  8. Now wear yours Names and the one you want password and click on "Further".
  9. Then click on "Restart now".
  10. If GRUB appears, navigate with the [Arrow keys] on Ubuntu.
