By the way, XE7 was released yesterday and there are some really interesting features, including a parallel programming library with thread pool implementation, etc., I have also seen futures, although I haven't tested any of them yet.

Can I already buy the XE7? What does the Prof. variant, Enterprise and Starter cost?

Why don't you look at the Embarcadero page?

Right ! That question wasn't necessary.

P.S. Why is the enterprise version (+ architect) so expensive? What is the reason ?

There is a feature matrix there for that. For us, for example, FireDAC as client / server database access library, DataSnap as client / server framework and mobile development for Android are relevant to us.

In other words: The Architect, Enterprise and Ultimate versions offer many more options and therefore cost so much.

Too simple You could also say that the higher SKUs offer rarely bought opportunities and the development costs for them have to be passed on to fewer buyers.

I have now upgraded my internet access at UPC Cablecom: 120 Mbit / sec download, 10 Mbit / sec upload. Now nothing stands in the way of downloading XE7 Prof. And that on pleasant terms. The download of 1 gigabyte now takes a good minute.
