What is an agronomy specialist
Presentation by scientists agronomists. Agronomist. Directions, subject areas and educational institutions according to training profile
The subject of my project is "Job of an Agronomist".
My father has been working on the Esin farm for several years. At home he often talks about his job and what a wonderful agronomist you have. I was very interested in who the "agronomist" was. Father said this is one of those jobs. Then I decided to find out more about this profession and to do a project on this subject.

I made the following hypothesis:
Agronomist is one of the main professions in agriculture.
Stages of my work:
1. Study of scientific literature and articles from the Internet on the subject;
2. Conversation with the agronomist Mamonov S.N.
3. Registration of the collected material in the form of a message and presentation;
4. Summary of the work results;
I learned a lot about this interesting profession from scientific literature and the Internet.
The word "agronomist" comes from two Greek words: "Agros" - field and "Nomos" - law. Agronomist - specialist in agriculture ... He knows the laws of agriculture, the laws of agronomy well. Knowing these laws helps the agronomist to achieve high yields of agricultural crops.
The job of an agronomist is very old. A few thousand years ago, people in ancient Egypt, China, Greece, Rome and India knew how to properly cultivate and refine the land and how to cultivate various agricultural crops. The first agronomists were people who cultivated wild plants with their subsequent domestication. During the development of agriculture, the specificity of the profession has changed a lot, but to this day it is an important part of the science of growing arable crops. A specialist sees better than others how plants develop, what is lacking in them, what changes are taking place in the soil. He is the main scientist in business, determines the technology of work, its organization. An important place in the work of an agronomist is the planning of the production process. He determines the amount of field work, its sequence, beginning and end, the content of the field tests, distributes the means of production; performs not only production, but also science and production work; Carefully study the effectiveness of varietal crops, one or the other tillage with the application of different types of fertilizers.
A few thousand years ago, people knew the rules and regulations for cultivating the land and growing agricultural crops. You can read about it in the surviving documents and books of that time. In ancient Russian books you can also find records of agronomy: how to plow the land, to what depth are crops sown, how to grow cabbage and beets. The first agronomists were people who started growing and domesticated wild plants. Before the advent of writing, agronomic knowledge was passed down orally from father to son from generation to generation.
The first known The Russian agronomist was Andrei Timofeevich Bolotov (1738-1833). He developed new methods for growing grain and vegetables, potatoes, flax and hemp and put them into practice.
Great help for agronomists made the works of famous Russian scientists.
V.V.Dokuchaev (1846-1903) developed methods of restoring and increasing the fertility of Chernozem. K. A. Timiryazev (1843-1920) studied the nutritional needs of plants. D. N. Pryanishnikov (1865-1948) explained how plants assimilate nitrogen, developed methods of using nitrogen fertilizers. IV Michurin (1855-1935) bred new types of fruit and berries.
The agronomist is an important agricultural specialist. Its responsibilities include creating new varieties of horticultural, horticultural and field crops. A professional agronomist must also be good at planning, monitoring and improving the production process carried out by workers under his supervision. It is the agronomist who is the main scientist in agriculture and must be able to determine the technology and organization of work.
In order to carry out his duties successfully, an agronomist must first take personality traits such as initiative, efficiency, creative attitude towards work, the ability to be attentive, notice and take into account changes in the nature of his work, and, if necessary, emergency and non-standard decisions to meet. Often his activity takes place against the background of emotional tension, accompanied by states of anxiety, for example in adverse weather conditions, which can destroy everything that has been done before. Therefore the will, the developed sense of responsibility for the decisions made are qualities that are necessary in this profession.
In our region, agronomists are trained by the Far Eastern State Agrarian University and the Blagoveshchensk Agricultural College.
I met with our local agronomist Mamonov Sergey Nikolaevich. I learned through speaking with him that he is a graduate of Far Eastern Agrarian University. He received military training at the university and is a reserve lieutenant. Since childhood, he dreamed of becoming an agronomist and working with the land, and his dream came true. In 2008 he graduated from university and in the same year he entered absentee postgraduate studies, which he graduated in 2012. From 2008 to 2013 he worked at the SOI Institute. And already in 2013 he came to our Sergeevka, where he still works as an agronomist today.
From Sergei Nikolaevich I learned a lot of interesting things about this profession. He told me that
A modern agronomist is a versatile specialist in agricultural production. He knows the subtleties of everything that has to do with growing plants, that is, their agricultural technology: methods of tillage, timing and methods of sowing and harvesting, especially the care of plants and plantings. For example, wheat, oats, onions, radishes can be sown early. The seeds of these plants begin to germinate when the soil is still cold. But you have to wait to sow corn. She loves warm floors. Even later, cucumbers and zucchini are sown. Beet seeds are very small. Therefore, they need to be embedded in the ground at a shallow depth. Peas with fairly large seeds are buried 5-6 cm, and potato tubers 12-15 cm in the ground. Harvest how to control weeds, diseases and pests. Since all work in the fields is carried out by machines, the agronomist understands agricultural machines.
Future agronomists are preparing to have to work not only with land, seeds, fertilizers, but also with people. Their responsibilities include planning and organizing the work, as well as providing the necessary support, such as getting rid of marriage at work, training, and education. Therefore, an agronomist must have organizational and educational skills and abilities. Labor productivity largely depends on it.
I also found out where agronomists can work
– theresearch institutes;
agricultural and agricultural complexes;
Professional skills, what an agronomist should own
- the ability to understand the types and properties of soils;
knowledge of the characteristics and stages of development of certain crops of plants;
knowledge in the field of natural sciences: chemistry, physics, biology (botany);
knowledge of the types and principles of agricultural machinery;
knowledge of the basics of laboratory activities
I asked Sergei Nikolaevich which school subjects helped him choose this profession, and he replied that it wasbiology, physics, chemistry and geography.
And he attributed the special knowledge he acquired at the universitysoil science; Biochemistry; Biophysics; Ecology, land reclamation and agricultural technology.
Sergei Nikolaevich has been helping the students of our school for several years with experimental work at the school's educational and experimental site. Under his guidance, the guys were doing experiments with different cultures. Several experiments were carried out with soybeans. The 9th grade children spoke with one of these works at a scientific and practical conference at DalSAU and
took an honorable award.
I have learned a lot about agronomists through my work and have come to this conclusion
An agronomist is a specialist who has mastered the science of agriculture and farming. This is one of the main occupations in agriculture.
Without this profession it is impossible to grow a crop of vegetables, bread, fruit, fruit.
And I want to end my project with this poem:
The agronomist has a concern every day -
As soon as the sun comes out, he's already on his feet.
And so there is sometimes a reluctance ...
But duty calls and he's back in business.
The great responsibility of the agronomist lies with
For the harvest, for the cleanliness of the fields.
He knows so well
Risk of sun and rain.
But here is the harvest -
It is important not to miss anything here,
Was serious, self-confidently considered
Increased fees and where to place them.
And so from year to year, from century to century ...
Simple, it seemed a man
Responsible for our food -
For bread, pasta and porridge.
It may be strange but I'll say now
"Thank you, you are our agronomist,
For all efforts and torments.
You are the pride of a million generations! "

Often choose a future career Young people do not think about further employment. And completely in vain. It is not enough to get a reputable profession.The main thing is to find a job that corresponds to this profession. Today farms operate in a completely new way than they did 20 years ago. When a farmer grows vegetables, a large work area is usually automated. The specialist only controls the automation and carries out the necessary measurements and records. Of course, working on a farm involves manual labor, but this work ennobles a person. Modern farms install polycarbonate greenhouses, which are both comfortable and safe to work in. The crop in them grows quickly and efficiently, which in addition pleases the person who works in them.

Today, the profession of agronomist is in great demand in various large agricultural complexes in the country, as well as in small farms, greenhouses, tree nurseries, greenhouses and other research and educational institutions. According to the calculations of the agronomist, the timing of the start of sowing or harvesting, as well as how to deal with field pests or natural disasters, depends.

In ancient times, people found that the quality and quantity of the harvest was directly related to weather factors and the natural features of the area. Man has closely observed these dependencies and applied his observations in agriculture. If, in the past, every farmer could only rely on his observation, then the entire agricultural industry today focuses mainly on the research and achievements of agronomists - specialists who have devoted their lives to developing agriculture. Today the job of an agronomist is important to society.
