Why are water bottles cylinders
No, only water may be bubbled on. Using any liquid other than still water can damage your device and invalidate the guarantee. Use chilled water and always add syrup after it has bubbled.
The SodaStream Set contains everything you need to produce sparkling water: a device, a rental cylinder and one / more bottle (s). If you want to make fizzy soft drinks, all you have to do is add the soda mix flavor of your choice.

With your SodaStream device, you can make drinks that are as bubbly as you want them to be. To do this, you have to press the carbon dioxide button briefly and firmly several times until you hear the typical pressure sound. Now you can choose the fizzy strength of your drink: by pressing three times you get water with medium fizzy strength, by pressing five times you get strongly carbonated water.
Your SodaStream soda maker comes with a two-year warranty, which is valid from the date of purchase *. Registered devices (mysodastream.ch) receive an additional guarantee of one year (total of 3 years). * Warranty Limitations: This warranty is provided on the condition that the device has been used correctly and in strict accordance with SodaStream's instructions as described in the instruction manual of your device.
Your device must be cleaned with a soft, damp cloth. If necessary, you can clean it with lukewarm water to which a little washing-up liquid has been added. Make sure, however, that no part of the device is washed in the dishwasher.
SodaStream is regularly rated positively by both consumers and independent testing bodies. The SVTI / ASIT logo guarantees the technical quality of the SodaStream cylinders.
The DUO machine is the new revolution in bubbling. The compact design is a real eye-catcher in every kitchen and it bubbles both glass and plastic and enables quick and easy bubbles. The DUO comes with 2 different types of reusable, dishwasher-safe bottles - choose between a 1L glass carafe for at home or a 1L Fuse plastic bottle for on the go.
The new Quick Connect cylinder is easy to use. Without having to screw in the cylinder, it is now easier than ever to bubble up immediately. You can even use it with one hand!
The 1L Fuse water bottle is compatible with the Easy / Spirit, Spirit One Touch, Jet, Source and Power bubble devices. The 1L glass carafe is only compatible with the DUO device. The user-friendly Quick Connect cylinder is only compatible with our latest DUO bubbler.
To check whether you have run out of gas, first make sure that the Quick Connect cylinder is correctly inserted in the bottle holder with the pink bottle handle lowered. Once you've checked, press the bubble button a few times to see if any gas gets into the bottle.
If you run out of gas, use the Store Locator / Dealer Locator to find a store near you.
If you still have gas, try the following steps to get it bubbling again:
1. Fill the water bottle with cold drinking water to the fill line
2. Place the DUO on a flat, stable surface in an upright position.
3. Unlock the container by turning the lever to the right. The device head rises automatically. Tilt the lower part of the container forward to insert the bottle and place the container back in the upright position.
4. Press the device head down and lock it by turning the lever to the left. In the locked position, the lever aligns with the small dot located under the SodaStream logo.
5. Firmly press and release the bubble button for about two seconds, then repeat the process. Repeat this process 3 times for light bubbles, 5 times for strong bubbles and again for extra strong bubbles.
Make sure that you only fill the glass carafe or fuse bottle with still water to the fill line and that you only bubble before any flavors are added. Try to put your glass carafe or fuse bottle back in and make sure that the container is properly locked. Then lock the container by turning the lever to the left.
Getting the perfect amount of sparkling fun is easy.
Follow the steps below:

PET is the abbreviation for polyethylene terephthalate. This is a plastic that is used, among other things, in the beverage industry to fill bottles with mineral water, soda or lemonades.
The plastic bottles should be cleaned by hand after each use with lukewarm water (max. 50 ° C) and a commercially available washing-up liquid. If you are not going to use the plastic bottles for a while, let them dry upside down after they have been thoroughly cleaned. Then be sure to keep them in a dry place. In addition, the bottles can also be cleaned with our SodaStream cleaning tabs (available at shop.sodastream.ch).
The glass carafes are dishwasher safe. Only the plastic bottles marked "dishwasher safe" (made of copolyester plastic) may be cleaned in the dishwasher. All other plastic bottles must not be cleaned in the dishwasher. However, the closures of the PET bottles can be cleaned in the dishwasher without any problems.
The plastic bottles have an expiration date for the following reasons: - Over time, the plastic material loses its elasticity and strength. The SodaStream manufacturer has therefore set an optimal usage period. The respective date is on all bottles. - With daily use, plastic bottles are exposed to numerous mechanical (bumps, scratches) and physical stresses (exposure to heat, various deformations). For safety reasons, plastic bottles should therefore no longer be used after the expiry date.
After the expiry date has passed, the PET bottles can be handed over to a collection point for PET bottles. The bottom and the lid of the bottle must be removed.
The 0.5 liter PET bottles have also been available in a duo pack since autumn 2015.
Please do not use brushes made of synthetic material, as this can scratch and damage the inside of the bottle. It is recommended to use bottle brushes made of foam or natural bristles. Such bottle brushes are available from SodaStream.
It's great that you care about the environment. SodaStream does that too! Our plastic bottles can be used for bubbly for up to 3 years. Glass bottles can be used indefinitely, provided they are kept free from cracks or other damage. Check your product packaging for the recycling codes and contact your local recycling center for more information on recycling.
Our water bottles are made from two materials: BPA-free plastic and glass.
The DUO bubbler can be used with our dishwasher-safe 1L glass carafe and 1L Fuse bottle. The 1L regular bottle, the 0.8L glass carafe (from the Crystal), the 0.5L bottle and My Only Bottle are not compatible.
No, the glass carafes are not compatible. The DUO bubbly comes with a 1 liter glass carafe, while the Crystal is used with a 0.8 liter glass carafe.
The DUO bubbly only works with the 1L glass carafe and the 1L Fuse bottle. If the device head does not close properly, check that you are using the correct bottle. The DUO is NOT compatible with the classic 1 liter bottle, the 0.8 liter glass carafe, the 0.5 liter bottle and the My Only Bottle.
Does it still not close or lock?
Check the bottle holder inside the lower container. This piece is removable for easy cleaning and can come off. To insert the bottle holder correctly, rotate it into the lower part of the container and make sure that it lies flat.
The DUO comes with a glass carafe and a fuse bottle, each with an exclusive cap. Make sure you are using the correct closure for your bottle.
Due to the low purchase price of the devices, SodaStream has an exchange system for defective devices. No more repairs are carried out. During the warranty period, you will receive a free replacement of your device from your SodaStream service partner.
The classics are the most popular flavors, which are also the most widespread fizzy drinks in bottles and are offered everywhere. They are available in 500ml format for 12 liters of mixed drink. The specialties are exclusive products. These are extraordinary flavors that are often not offered as bottled drinks. They are offered in 500ml format for 10 or 12 liters of mixed drink.
The soda mixes are generally packaged and labeled in such a way that maximum freshness is guaranteed over the long term. The storage period is between 12 and 14 months from the date of manufacture. It is therefore possible that the respective best-before dates on the back of the bottle differ from one another. Please note the exact information on your bottle.
In general, we recommend using a cap (42 ml) of concentrate for a 1 liter bottle in order to obtain a water-to-concentrate ratio of 23: 1 (there is a corresponding one on the inside of the cap of the bottle with the concentrate Line for the recommended amount).
Due to the hermetic closure of the bottles, the bubbling of your drinks will last much longer than with standard plastic bottles. If you make sure to close the cap tightly and keep the bottles in the refrigerator, your SodaStream drinks will stay sparkling for over a week.
No, you would damage your device (which would invalidate the guarantee). If you add the concentrate before the carbonation, so many bubbles can form that the liquid overflows. Therefore, please ensure that you always bubble up the water first and only then add the concentrate.
Very simple: You only need to come to one of our numerous authorized dealers with the empty original SodaStream cylinder. You only pay for the topping up. With the help of our store locator, you can find the partner closest to your place of residence. Or even easier: Have the original SodaStream cylinder in your mailbox at home exchanged. Order a cylinder filling now on our webshop shop.sodastream.ch.
We recommend that you always have a spare cylinder in the closet. When the cylinder is slowly draining, all you have to do is replace it and you can continue to mix your fizzy drinks. You can then return the empty cylinder to one of our authorized dealers on your next visit.
We can only guarantee the performance and safety of the original SodaStream cylinders, because only these are subject to our strict quality tests. We therefore recommend that you only use SodaStream / Soda-Club cylinders with your device. Using any other cylinder will void the guarantee.
There are certain indications that the cylinder is empty: -If you press the bubble button, you will see that no carbon dioxide flows into the bottle -Even if you press the carbon dioxide button again, you will not hear a pressure sound -The carbon dioxide button remains pressed -The cylinder "spits"
You may hear a slight whistle when the device is pressurized. This is completely normal and should stop after bubbling when the bottle is tilted and there is no more pressure.
It is possible that some pressure is escaping between the bracket and the cylinder slide. Screw the bottle tighter onto the bracket. If pressure continues to escape, remove the bottle immediately and check that the seal is correctly attached. If the seal is missing, please feel free to contact customer service.
If carbon dioxide continues to flow from your device after the bubble button has been released, do not remove the cylinder from the device. Continue to leave the device in a vertical position and do not touch it until you can no longer hear the carbon dioxide emanating from it. As soon as no more carbon dioxide escapes, tilt the soda bottle. Unscrew the cylinder and call our customer service on 0800 800 812 who will explain how to change the cylinder. Customer service is available Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1.30 p.m. to 5 p.m. Caution: the cylinder can be very cold! Throw the soda bottle away from the device - it cannot be used again and must be replaced. If the device is damaged, please stop using it and contact our customer service team.
The SodaStream cylinders for 60 and 100 liters contain CO2. Gas under pressure tends to expand when exposed to heat for long periods of time, such as while driving a heated car or near a heat source such as a stove, grill, or radiator. It is therefore important to keep the cylinder in a dry and cool place. Each cylinder is equipped with its own safety valve, from which the gas can safely escape if the pressure in the cylinder should increase.
A user certificate gives the consumer the temporary right to use the cylinder and explains his rights and obligations with regard to the cylinder. This remains the property of SodaStream. To use it, the user pays a rental prepayment when purchasing a SodaStream cylinder for the first time. The certificate also describes the steps required for the final return of the cylinder. The certificate is in the original SodaStream set and is also supplied with each additional cylinder.
The Quick Connect cylinder is unique for our DUO device. Make sure that you only use the cylinders with the pink sheath that have the Quick Connect logo (CQC) on them.
The new Quick Connect cylinder has a pink sleeve and a pink ring on the valve. This differs from the current cylinders with the blue sleeve.
You can easily find a dealer near you in our store locator.
You can exchange your original cylinder for the new pink cylinder at a point of sale that stocks the new pink cylinder.
Just remember that the new Quick Connect cylinder is only compatible with our DUO bubbler (the one with the pink handle on the back of the machine).
Remember that only the SodaStream Quick Connect cylinder can be used with the DUO machine. This cylinder is specially designed with an advanced mechanism to easily insert the cylinder and is not available from competitors. Look out for the pink cylinder!
Did you know that SodaStream CO2 cylinders undergo a quality check when they are refilled?
SodaStream only warrants its own products.
We are not responsible for any other company's products that could damage the soda maker and void your warranty. Only original SodaStream cylinders should be used.
First, make sure the cylinder is properly attached:
Pull the back cover away from the machine to remove it. Make sure you are pulling the small handle on the top of the back panel. To insert the cylinder, first lift the pink cylinder handle. Position the bottom of the cylinder in the machine, then carefully place the rest of the cylinder into the cylinder holder located at the bottom of the bubble button. Lower the cylinder handle to lock it and replace the back cover so that it clicks into place. Do not hold the sides of the back cover to remove it.
The DUO only works with the Quick Connect cylinder from SodaStream, which is provided with a pink ring and a Quick Connect (CQC) label. If the handle on the back is not completely down, check that you are using the correct cylinder.
The cylinders with the blue label do not work with your DUO machine.
If you haven't added any flavors yet, try an extra push or two by pressing the soda button down firmly for about two seconds. If you still experience a little bubbly, you may be out of gas.
To check whether you have run out of gas, first make sure that the Quick Connect cylinder is correctly inserted in the bottle holder and that the pink bottle handle is lowered. When you've checked, press the bubble button a few times to see if there is any gas entering the bottle.
