Where does Senator Cory Booker live

US Senator Cory Booker wants to become president

Washington - Senator Cory Booker is the next candidate for the Democratic presidential nomination for the 2020 election against Donald Trump. The 49-year-old African American announced in a video on Friday that he would run in the party primary, which begins in a year. There are now nine applicants for the Democrats.

For the announcement of his candidacy, Booker chose the beginning of "Black History Month", which celebrates the history of African Americans every February in the USA. The Senator from New Jersey is considered very liberal. He has been in the Senate since 2013 and has made a name for himself, among other things, by sharply questioning President Donald Trump's candidate ministers and judges in hearings.

Mayor of Newark

In his video, Booker stated that he believed in an America where no one would be left behind. He referred to his own biography: He is the only senator who lives in a low-income community. The 49-year-old lives in Newark, where he was mayor prior to his election to the Senate.

The selection process will begin in Iowa in early February. Senators Elizabeth Warren, Kamala Harris and Kirsten Gillibrand, among others, have already thrown their hats into the ring. Other candidates are ex-Vice President Joe Biden and the independent Senator Bernie Sanders. (APA, February 1, 2019)
